True to his word CW was prepared to take the winner of the 1st half out to the best steak house that the champion should choose. Greg also stepped up and offered to split the tab with CW a very nice gesture indeed. Yet JR's wife of many years provided wisdom in her suggestion to have our steaks prepared by none other than CW himself. So late last week all fine dinning was scratched as JR selected a cook out and that is what we shall review in this blog.
 
Saturday 5/21/08 CW's humble abode.
 
JR and Maggie are cruising down the boulevard looking forward to a great afternoon when they come upon a sign designating overflow parking area for the CW attendees. Wow these guys have thought of everything. On we go and out in the front yard we see the sign that states here will be the CW celebration of 1st half champion Jim Ruddy. Well you would have thunk JR just beat Phil and Tiger on the 18th to capture the Open. He was beaming. Out comes CW with a digital camera ( that he had no clue how to use) so much time was lost until he retrieved his camera and recorded the beginning of the event. All four of our competitors ( adopted Lou) gathered around the kitchen to speak of fine golf shots struck over the past 17 rounds. Yes, there was some discussion and laughter of those not so fine also. All 9 of us yes Ainsley attended this Historic event and was the life of the party as she herded Mom and Dad back and forth with Bo on the leash. She and Mom created the great looking signage, easy telling where the success in Absolute Realty comes from. So lets discuss Chuck.
 
If you have been blogging with us for a while you know "ITS ALL ABOUT CHUCK". Well he is prime time in his kitchen holding court to the 8 of us. He does his impersonation of Hells Kitchen as he whips up a number of dishes while we all enjoy our Beer or Wine. Great snacks and dips where had by all ( and needed as CW likes to hold court for 3 Plus hours before he begins the entree). Judie has her work cut out for herself as Charlie has a single focus.
 
Judie also has credit for selecting the gift to JR. It was she while traveling selected a light read for CW "How to Really Stink at Golf" by Jeff Foxworthy & Brian Hartt. after a few chapters read CW declared this is our gift to the champion of the first half. It was presented with all the pomp and ceremony the event required and after JR read one then two and after much prompting three and yes 4 chapters. We thought the night was over and fine dinning would begin. Not at CW's place.
 
This day it was all about the competitors. This was great fun for the four of us but our spousal units where not impressed when CW calls the boys over to a private Champaign toast. Clearly that is what lead into Lou and JR attempting to prepare their individual dishes of which they had nothing to do with either. The Lord placed us on this earth so a man and a women could balance one and other in life's journey. CW (the spinning top) needs a balance and we are all pulling for Judie.
 
CW had onions going in the oven, 8 steaks on the barbie and Ainsley burger all to contend with. Ladies on the patio and the boys in the kitchen consuming the end of their champagne. and preparing to serve the ladies (only way to get back in their good graces). Dinner was served and Bo and Starr maintained an even keel as many eyes watched over them. Desserts where delicious and if this was a lady writing this blog more time would be spent here then I spent about all the golf stuff. To end the evening we must have a cigar smoking event. It was not well attended with only Lou and JR partaking. Clearly Lou is the Pro in this department as he comes with all the tools and a vast selection of Man Cigars. Goes with the Tattoos and Bike.
 
It was a great finish to the 1st half and we all (the guys of course) look forward to 19 more rounds of the CW. The Blog has seemed to capture the interest of a number of folks besides our 4 boys.
